The Trailer & Some Pirates

We went to the trailer last weekend for two whole nights!!!  Yes, we survived with the two boys and A LOT of rain.  Who forgot rain coats for the boys?  Yup, I sure did.  I looked at the weather report and it said a little bit of rain was expected later on Saturday.  Well, it wasn't a little bit of rain and it we had it Friday night and Saturday evening.  Thunder and lightning with buckets of rain made for interesting times.  I do have to say, despite the rain, the rest of the time was wonderful.  We were able to go on a long walk together, play at the park at the end of our block, and the boys loved playing in our "driveway" (see pics below).

Friday night, we roasted marshmallows and made 'smores.  The boys enjoyed playing with their toys (we snagged some extras just to keep at the trailer), bubbles, and of course the brooms.  They loved the fire in the chiminea and were mostly safe around it.

Saturday, we went on our walk, saw a bunch of slugs in the road and a lot of snails.  We even saw several deer.  While Nolan and I were still napping, Justin and Bennett went on a walk and saw a baby deer that was only a few days old.  How cool is that?

We headed home Sunday morning so we could get unpacked and relax at home for another day before the week started.

This week was the boys' last few days at their current daycare.  Thursday, we brought flowers for each of their teachers (Elva, Phyllis, Tammy, and Polly) and two cool plants for the whole center.  We will really miss the staff and the wonderful teachers there.  We put a lot of trust into those who care for our boys and it's sad to leave that.  Not only did they care for our boys, they listened to us when we were having issues, and were just really nice people to interact with.  They set the bar high, so I hope the new daycare can come close to meeting that.  Their first day at the new center went well.  Nolan was fussy and clingy, but he was fine after I left.  Bennett was a complete rock star and just started playing with the toys and wasn't intimidated at all when the new kids introduced themselves.  That was a proud mommy moment.  When we picked them up, we got good reports from both teachers (Yay!!!).

Enough babbling.  Here's some pictures!

Nolan is so excited!

How much does Bennett love it?

Pre bedtime fun on the fold-out couch

The boys playing in the "driveway".  We have another
driveway just a few feet away where we parked.
They were picking up pine cones and putting them in
their trucks.

Not sure why we get this ornery scowl from Nolan,
but it's his newest "smile" for the camera.

Nolan on the swing.  The park is really close to our
trailer.  There's several swings, a teeter totter, slide,
and basket ball hoop.

Fun with bubbles!

Bennett and Justin enjoying the campfire after the
downpour we BBQ'd through.

Yes, even super heroes brush their teeth.

A little blurry, sorry.  But, here's a classic Bennett and
Nolan sword fight.

Such a fearsome pirate.  Love the chunky thighs!

No messing around here.  He's a serious pirate.
